Six Categories of Care

Every treatment we offer is minimally invasive, performed on an outpatient basis, and guided by imaging for maximum precision. We match each patient to the right category and specific procedure based on their diagnosis.

Injections & Nerve Blocks
Most common first-line procedures
01

Targeted injections deliver anti-inflammatory medication or anesthetic directly to the source of pain — the nerve root, joint, bursa, or trigger point. Most injections are performed in under 30 minutes and provide relief within days.

Epidural Steroid Injections (cervical, lumbar, thoracic)
Transforaminal Nerve Root Blocks
Facet Joint Injections
Trigger Point Injections
Occipital Nerve Blocks & Botox for Migraine
SI Joint Injections & Joint Injections
Ablation & Denervation
Longer-lasting nerve pain relief
02

Radiofrequency ablation uses heat energy to disable the specific nerves carrying pain signals from joints and damaged structures. Results typically last 9 to 18 months, making it one of the longest-lasting non-surgical options available.

Medial Branch Radiofrequency Ablation (back and neck)
Lateral Branch Ablation (SI joint)
Genicular Nerve Ablation (knee pain)
Pulsed Radiofrequency (nerve modulation)
Intracept Procedure (basivertebral nerve ablation)
Neuromodulation
Spinal cord & nerve stimulation
03

Neuromodulation uses electrical impulses to interrupt or modify pain signals traveling through the nervous system. Spinal cord stimulation is considered the gold standard treatment for CRPS and failed back surgery syndrome, with evidence showing superior outcomes to repeat surgery.

Spinal Cord Stimulation (trial and permanent)
Peripheral Nerve Stimulation
Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulation
Intrathecal Drug Delivery (pain pump)
Infusion Therapy
Full-service infusion center
04

DVPSI operates one of the region's most comprehensive pain infusion centers. Ketamine and lidocaine infusions are among the most effective treatments for refractory CRPS and neuropathic pain, administered in a physician-supervised clinical setting.

Ketamine Infusion Therapy (CRPS, neuropathic pain)
Lidocaine Infusion
Booster and Maintenance Infusions
Combination Infusion Protocols
Advanced Spine Procedures
Minimally invasive spine interventions
05

For conditions that require more than an injection but less than open surgery, our physicians offer a range of advanced minimally invasive spine procedures. Many of these are performed under light sedation as outpatient procedures with rapid recovery.

Vertiflex Superion (lumbar spinal stenosis)
MILD Procedure (lumbar decompression)
SI Joint Fusion (minimally invasive)
Vertebroplasty & Kyphoplasty (compression fractures)
Epidural Adhesiolysis (scar tissue)
Medication Management
Evidence-based, opioid-cautious prescribing
06

When medications are appropriate, our physicians prescribe thoughtfully and monitor carefully. We strongly prioritize non-opioid options and, when opioids are necessary, work with patients toward the lowest effective dose with a long-term plan to reduce dependence.

Membrane Stabilizers (gabapentin, pregabalin)
SNRIs and TCAs for neuropathic pain
Anti-inflammatory medications
Topical agents and patches
Opioid weaning and alternative protocols
